Canon introduces large-format printers for professional photography market

Canon UK has launched a brace of 24" large-format printers, the imagePrograf iPF6000S and the imagePrograf iPF6200, aimed at the photography and fine art markets.

Both machines, which are also suitable for the production of hard copy proofs, can print at resolutions of 2,400x1,200dpi and can output an A1 print in less than a minute.

The imagePrograf iPF6200 is a 12-colour machine that features both roll and manual feeds. It is targeted at photographers looking to invest in a large-format machine and bring printing in-house.

The eight-colour imagePrograf iPF6000S model is aimed at printers producing sign, poster and display graphics.

Both printers feature an 80GB hard drive and software that includes Digital Photo Front Access, Adobe PhotoShop Plug-in and creation tool PosterArtist Lite.

Shane Burchett, large-format printing product professional at Canon UK, said the machines "demonstrate the increased revenue streams professional photographers can tap into by combining digital photography with effective output and solutions".
