Folding leaflets and more wheel charts
Joanne Gardner tracks down the solutions to your technical troubles
Q I’m trying to source a supplier for a client who needs a credit card-sized leaflet that folds out to at least an A4 (in a landscape format) for a promotional campaign. It would need to include a perforated section for a competition that the end-user could tear off and post. Any suggestions?
Carol Goodes, via email
A I actually recently came across BroCard, which specialises in exactly the kind of thing you’re after: a miniature fold down product (this being called a BroCard of course) that comes in various formats and finishes, with or without perforation etc. I seriously recommend you visit its website – www.bro-card.co.uk – it has little animations to explain each version of the product and yours looks to be one of them. I know director Shaun Stanley would be happy to hear from you too – call 01924 298999 or email shaun@bro-card.co.uk. Others to try are Z-card (020 7924 5147, www.zcard.co.uk), Games and Print Services (01268 511522, www.gamesandprint.co.uk, johnn@gamesandprint.co.uk), Cambrian Printers (01970 627111, www.cambrian-printers.co.uk), Cantate Print (020 7622 3401), Abbeyfield Press (01452 382092, www.abbeyfieldpress.co.uk), Alito Color Group (020 8988 8700, www.alitogroup.co.uk), and Micro Print Finishers (01892 514516, www.microprintfinishers.com).
Concertina folding #2
Rollem has contacted Help Line to say it produces a machine that can put the crease into long items such as the concertina timeline Taggart Neumanas described, although it can’t help with the actual folding. Everyone who has been in touch agrees that pre-creasing followed by hand-folding is the best option. Email stuart@rollem.co.uk, call 0114 246 8981 or visit www.rollem.co.uk. The ever present BroCard (see left for contact details) has also been in touch, saying it has plenty of staff who would be able to hand-fold 3,000 copies with ease and for a reasonable cost.
Wheel charts #2
If you want to bring eyeletting in-house, eyelet machines are available through Joyce & Co at www.joyce-pm.com, or contact Peter Blissett on 01480 405290. Also, Atlas Machinery has been in touch to say it has a secondhand eyeletting machine available. Call 01924 381999 or email bindmachines@atlasuk.com. If you’d rather send
it out, Scribes Print and Copy Centre have said that they will gladly do the job. Email Darren@scribes-finishers.co.uk or call them on 020 7511 1505.
