PaperCo award victory for CUP

PaperCo has announced that Cambridge University Press (CUP) has won its Maine, Chromomat and Satimat Challenge.

The publisher won the award for the most creative use of the coated art stocks, after submitting a book celebrating the National Health Service’s 60th anniversary.

The book was produced using Satimat 130gsm for the text pages, supplied by PaperCo subsidiary Mason’s Paper.

Second prize went to Allander Press in Edinburgh, a customer of Donald Murray Paper, for its printing of the Scottish Seabirds Centre Guide. The publication used Maine front to back, 250gsm for the cover and 150gsm for the text.

It was selected because it produced "consistently excellent quality" throughout all 620pp of text, including both colour and mono work.
