Dsicmm buys CAS 38 folder to meet customer demands

Direct mail specialist Dsicmm has installed an MB CAS 38 folder from Encore Machinery at its Peterborough plant.

The folder comes with an accumulator unit and Axode barcode-reading camera, allowing Dsicmm to offer secure mailing to its clients. The machine can run at speeds of up to 25,000sph.

Dsicmm bought the machine after a client requested personalised statements with multiple sheets to be folded and enveloped.

Previously, the three sheets would have to be checked individually, but the CAS 38 is able to fold the three sheets as one.

Production manager Andrew Morton said: "The machine has made a significant difference to our productivity as we can now envelope the products as a single document on our CMC inserting machines.

"We saw the benefit of buying it as a stand-alone system as we could use the folder for general commercial folding and match and mail jobs."
