Singapore newspaper printer installs longest ever Manroland Uniset

Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has installed the world's longest Manroland Uniset newspaper press, comprising 16 towers.

SPH prints 14 newspapers on the press including its own titles Berita Harian, Berita Minggu and My Paper, along with contract work such as Asahi Shimbun, Nihon Keisai and the International Herald Tribune.

A further 90 magazines are also produced at the plant.

Peter Kuisle, executive vice president of web printing system sales at Manroland, added: "SPH is regarded in the industry as an extremely professional and demanding customer.

"We are very proud that Singapore's largest media group, which is renowned for its leadership in product excellence, has placed its trust in Manroland once again.

"The success of this project can largely be attributed to the outstanding collaboration between the two companies."

SPH chairman Tony Tan Keng Yam said: "I would like to thank our partners for their commitment and support."
