Duplo to distribute upgraded Ideal EP Digicut

Ideal has replaced the 5221-05 EP Digicut guillotine with the Ideal 5222 Digicut, which is being distributed in the UK by Duplo International.

The new machine bears all the features of its predecessor but adds a number of new functions – including Duplo's Safety Cutting System, which has an infrared safety curtain on the front table.

Other safety elements include a transparent safety cover on the rear table.

Peter Jolly, Duplo's UK marketing manager, said: "We think the new guillotine will become a best seller in the digital market because of the new added features.

"Having 99 programmes, each with 99 steps, will allow the user to get jobs completed quicker, with no changing from programme to programme – saving time as well as effort."

The machine has a cutting length of 520mm and is designed to cut digital formats.

Cutting precision is ensured by solid, adjustable blade guides and a robust steel blade carrier. An optical cutting line indicator shows the cutting line using illuminated diodes.

Other features include a residual cut of only 22mm and an easy-to-install false clamp plate with spring lock.
