Xtension makers offer free upgrade for QuarkXPress 8 launch

Third-party QuarkXPress XTensions-developers have announced a promotion for the upcoming launch of QuarkXPress 8.

Customers who purchase selected QuarkXPress 7 XTensions between now and 1 August 2008 will receive a free upgrade to QuarkXPress 8 XTensions.

The promotion complements Quark's current offer, which provides a free upgrade to version eight with any QuarkXPress 7 purchase.

Terry Welty, senior vice president of corporate marketing at Quark, said XTensions help automate "tedious and repetitive tasks associated with publishing projects" ultimately leading to a saving of time and money.

Products on offer include XTensions from Compusense, Badia Software and Layout.

Cyndie Shaffstall, director of Quark's QuarkAlliance program for XTensions developers said: "We can make early and seamless adoption possible by recognising and addressing each end-user's reliance on third-party solutions.
