DeskDirect builds on market share with contract win

Hybrid mail provider DeskDirect Global has expanded its share of the public sector market with a contract win from Glasgow-based Document Outsourcing.

The deal is the latest for the rapidly growing company, which already counts print fulfilment providers Inkfish Services and FCS Lasermail among its UK clients.

DeskDirect Global's service enables users to electronically send mail, such as letters, direct mail and marketing materials, to a production plant where it is printed, folded, inserted, sealed and sorted, ready for final delivery into the postal service.

Document Outsourcing specialises in print for local government and the debt collection industry. It currently produces 60m documents each year at its 1,440sqm, plant, which has the capacity to produce 130m documents annually.

"This deal gives us access to mail volumes and new sources of business which have previously been inaccessible to us," said Document Outsourcing's sales director Gerry Crawley.

Mark Worsley, chief executive of Australia-headquartered DeskDirect Global, added: "We're effectively enabling businesses to outsource their mail requirements and dramatically reduce their reliance on desktop printers, giving a better quality, lower cost and far more efficient solution."
