Amcor develops steam venting packs
Amcor Flexibles has supplied its ProtectValve steam venting system to potato grower and packaging company Peter Keogh & Sons.
The Amcor ProtectValve is an integrated part of the lidding film attached to the polypropelyne punnet.
The film top web is a PET peelable cPP laminate with antimist and valve for lidding.
The pack allows uniform cooking, but aims to minimise dehydration, without the loss of flavour or vitamins.
Tom Keogh, general manager at Peter Keogh & Sons, said: "Striving for excellence is a Keogh family tradition and therefore we are constantly reassessing and developing our operations and processes.
"With the integration of Amcor's ProtectValve steam venting system we facilitate the steam cooking of our baby potatoes in the microwave."
The packs are available at Irish retailer Superquinn.
