Blackburns follows up success with second Domino C6000+

Direct marketing company Blackburns has invested in its second Domino C6000+ case-coding inkjet press after experiencing a hike in production levels following the installation of a first machine.

The Leeds-based business, which has a staff of 322, ordered the machine after a successful trial for outer-case coding applications.

Divisional director Dave Molloy said "We've had the original machine for nearly 18 months and were using it heavily. One was simply not enough.

"We have been highly impressed by the increased production levels and reduced labour costs it has produced. We are now faster with four staff than we were with five."

The inkjet press will come supplied with a 3M case sealing machine, which provides the ability to simultaneously seal and personalise boxed-up literature that includes flyers.

The Domino C6000+ can print at resolutions of 180dpi at up to 60m per/min. it joins a kit battery that includes three Bitjet high-speed machines and five Editor GT ink jet production line controllers.

Molloy said: "With the increased productivity and reduced costs we now offer our clients, we really are ahead of the field."

Blackburns counts financial markets, charities and retailers among its client base.
