TPI administrator hints at possible sale

Administrator Joe McLean of Grant Thornton has said he is in discussions regarding the sale of pre-press software company Turning Point Innovations (TPI), which went into administration on Wednesday.

McLean was appointed administrator of Newcastle Computer Services plc (NCS), which trades as Turning Point Innovations, only 15 months after TPI was formed, following NCS's acquisition of TPI.

"We have had interest from a company in the same industry," McLean told PrintWeek. He declined to elaborate further but said the business was continuing to trade under the control of the administrator.

TPI is the UK Distributor for pre-media software Dalim and Xinet, among other packages.

NCS Supplies, which recently sold its offset division to Litho Supplies, was not included in the administration and continues to trade as a separate company.

Marketing director Steve Emerson confirmed to PrintWeek that the company went into administration at 12:30 on Tuesday.
