PaperCo denies risk of stock-out due to PSM's two-week hiatus

PaperCo has said there was never any immediate risk of a 'stock-out' situation of its 9lives Offset paper, following French mill Pont Sainte Maxence's (PSM) fall into administration.

Production of many grades at the mill ceased for two weeks on 1 August.

However, production at the 120,000 tonnes per annum mill resumed on 13 August after the administrator secured agreements from suppliers and local unions.

Marketing director of PaperCo, Bob Ide, said: “We carry extensive stocks of all key grades throughout our
network, so there was never any immediate risk of a stock-out situation.

“But now we are assured of uninterrupted supplies for at least the next six months.”

Introduced in 2006 to complement the 9lives 80 and 9lives 55 ‘born again’ range of recycled coated papers, 9lives Offset has a 100% recycled content and is FSC accredited.

It has a high white shade, high bulk and opacity, and can be used for general commercial printing where an uncoated stock is preferred.
